Throwback is a pass-the-phone music party game. Hear a clip, place the song in your timeline, and be the first to build a full timeline.

How to play

1. Add your players or teams and press Start game. Everyone starts with one song card, year showing.
2. On your turn, tap the record to hear a 15-second clip. Tap ＋15s to hear more, but you can’t earn the ⭐ for naming it that turn.
3. Tap where the song fits in your timeline and Lock it in. Right spot: the card is yours.
4. Bank it and pass the phone, or Let it ride for another song. One miss and every unbanked card from that turn is gone.
5. First to the target wins. With the house rule on, the winning card needs the exact year.

Common questions

A song won’t play. Clips stream from Apple Music, so you need an internet connection. If one song won’t load, tap ↻ New song. It’s free and doesn’t cost a turn.

There’s no sound. Turn the volume up. Throwback plays even with the silent switch on, but not while another app is playing audio over it.

Can I change the rules? Yes. Tap Game options on the New game screen to choose genres and decades, cards to win, tokens, the turn timer, sound effects and the exact-year rule.

Do I need an account? No. There are no accounts, ads or tracking, and your game is saved only on your phone.
